New Trips 2012
Kayaking Trips in Alaska

We dream of big wild country, humpbacked whales, brown bears, calving glaciers, and wild salmon making a final pilgrimage up cold, clear streams to spawn. All these and more are part of the experience aboard the Catalyst, our boat. We'll land our kayaks on remote beaches to explore forests of ancient Sitka spruce. Fishermen among us can drop a jig to tempt a halibut and feed the entire boat. Our day trips by kayak lead us to the foot of the glacier where waterfalls tumble off the ice. We'll watch humpback whales feeding with bubble nets as they surge upward and breach near the Catalyst. Add to the picture actually living and sleeping on a beautifully restored wooden boat, her draft shallow enough to allow us into back bays and hidden coves. Each evening we'll gather in the ship's wood paneled salon for exquisite dinners served with fine wines. Make the experience complete by enjoying the camaraderie that comes with living and kayaking with a small group of fellow adventurers: telling stories, sharing dreams, and laughing.
