Day 2
We will have a one hour flight to Moron where we値l have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will depart for Lake Hovsgol by jeep. Our jeep ride will take us over a high plateau affording us some spectacular views of the countryside between Moron and Lake Hovsgol. Travel time will be approximately four hours at the end of which we will have arrived at our destination, Toilogt, our private camp on the shores of Lake Hovsgol. Toilogt has all the amenities of home, including hot showers and electricity. The large log dining hall hosts musical performances and informative lectures on traditional culture. We値l spend the remainder of our day becoming acquainted with the camp, our staff and the surrounding area. After dinner, we値l have our safety meeting, go over updates to our itinerary and have a general briefing on kayaking techniques. Day 3
After breakfast, we will take the opportunity to explore the area that surrounds our camp. The area surrounding Lake Hovsgul is home to argali sheep, ibex, bear and moose, as well as over 200 species of birds. We will spend the afternoon preparing the kayaks and gear for the following mornings departure.
Days 4, 5 and 6
We will leave Toilogt for three days of kayaking and camping along the secluded eastern shore of the lake. Our support ship offers us a great home base for storing gear and an excellent dining room to unwind in and relax after adventurous days spent paddling.
Days 7 through 10
After breakfast on day seven our group will prepare and depart for a four day float down the Eg River. The Eg is the only river that flows out of Lake Hovsgol. Its clear blue water winds through beautiful valleys, not only offering scenic floating, but great opportunities to hike and visit with the local people. On the morning of the tenth day the group will return to UlaanBaatar for a traditional Mongolian feast and celebration.
Day 11
