Bahamas Kayaking Trips

Date: March 23 - 30 & March 30 - April 6
Cost: $1995

Image The Bahamas are true coral islands made completely of limestone. They are fringed with white coral sand beaches and living reefs of outstanding beauty. Visitors are few, deserted beaches are plentiful, conservation is a priority, and peace and quiet are abundant.

Most of our trip is in the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park.  Created in 1959, this 112, 640 acres park was the first of its kind in the world and is famous for its pristine beauty, outstanding anchorages and breathtaking marine environment. It is a protected replenishment zone, considered the first marine fishery reserve in the wider Caribbean. We paddle an average of seven miles per day and take advantage of every opportunity to use the sailing rigs on our kayaks. Mother Nature usually keeps the tropical winds light and variable. However, in the event of unfavorable winds, the trip schedule is flexible enough for us to enjoy activities on shore. The pristine reefs are perfect for snorkeling. The warm sands are ideal for beachcombing, sunbathing, and relaxing. The many uninhabited islands are a perfect habitat for a variety of bird life, and there are mangrove thickets to explore in addition to the coral reefs.

We travel at a leisurely pace to allow plenty of time for sightseeing and relaxing in this tropical paradise. We camp in roomy tents on the soft sandy beaches and in remote coves.
